You will be supporting families like Brendan’s
Brendan received a shock diagnosis of kidney cancer the day before his 29th birthday. Within two years he had both kidneys removed and started dialysis.
“I was thrown in the deep end and basically told that my kidney would be removed, and I was going into dialysis. I had no idea what dialysis even was. As soon as I knew what was happening, I went onto the Kidney Health Australia website and started researching and educating myself.”
Although life doesn’t look the same as it did before his cancer diagnosis, and likely never will, Brendan is determined to not let that slow him down.
One of his mantras is: “Life’s too short. Exist to inspire, live for the moment and make sure you’re happy with what you’ve done with life.” It’s clear Brendan’s living that mantra well and we are honoured to have Brendan as Kidney Health Red Socks Appeal Ambassador.
