Our family is walking in honour of our beautiful, sweet Elsie! . Small Steps to make a BIG difference.
I am taking part in the Red Socks Walk on Sunday 10th October.
As most people are aware our precious daughter and sister passed away 4 weeks ago Friday due to a failed kidney transplant. Elsie had been on PD dialysis for 3 years and 11 months with lots of other health hurdles along the way, but she always overcome them with strength, determination and courage. Unfortunately this hurdle was just too big for her little body.
Did you know that you can lose up to 90% of kidney function before having any symptoms. Once your kidneys reach failure, there is no cure. Dialysis or kidney transplant are the only options to stay alive. I’ll be pulling up my RED SOCKS to walk in solidarity with the 25,000 people who are currently living with kidney failure.
